Learn, Apply and Grow
To Learn is to grow, in order to fulfill dreams one has to learn each day. One has to invest in himself in order to reach his goal. Even a seed needs water and time to grow into a beautiful tree. No one grows overnight. It takes a great deal of self discipline and dedication to do one thing everyday, but in the end it is worth it. In order to fullfill wishes, an individual needs to plan and then put his/her plans in to action.
Going from knowing about something to really growing and developing requires a pause. New ideas, new approaches, new skills all need some space to settle into the scheme of what we already know and do. We need to pause, in order to put knowledge gained into practice.
We want our students to be able to apply the knowledge and skills they learn with us to other challenges inside and outside of campus — the goal of our smart class is not have students pass the exam, but to be competent and critical life-long writers and readers; the goal of studying history is not to memorize the dates of major battles, but to develop a broad historical perspective that they can apply to understanding the world around them today and in the future.
